There is probably a website with some this functionality, a google search would render any possible results.
Most domains were obtained by large corporations early on for really cheap when the domain resellers started selling them. These corporations have then charged people for a majority of the “easy” domains and made bank off of that.
If you google “whois” you can find out which organizations own which domains and you could contact them if you are interested in purchasing a domain.

There is no way to search ALL domain name sales. Many sales are unavailable due to non-disclosure agreements or made privately and never reported. But there are at least a few sites that attempt to gather sales reports from various domain sales and auction sites.
Check out
NameBio at http://namebio. com/
DNSalePrice at http://www. dnsaleprice. com/
both provide the ability to search by keyword or date of sale or tld.
